What we collect, and what we do with it.

Short version: your name and your email address, so we can tell you when Sprooty is ready. Nothing else, nobody else.

Last updated 14 August 2026.

Who is responsible

The Sprooty Team. You can reach us at office@sprooty.io, and that address goes to actual people rather than a ticketing system.

What we collect when you join the list

  • Your name, because “Hi there” is a worse email than “Hi Mira”.
  • Your email address, because that is the entire point of a list.
  • A record of your consent: the exact sentence you agreed to, and when. Right now that sentence is “Yes, email me when Sprooty is ready. I can unsubscribe from any message.
  • Your IP address and browser user agent at the moment you signed up. We keep these only as evidence that the consent above was really given, which the GDPR expects us to be able to show.

There is no analytics on this site. No tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, no third-party scripts watching you read this sentence.

Why we are allowed to

Your consent — Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You gave it by ticking a box that was not ticked for you, and you can take it back at any time without giving a reason. Withdrawing does not make anything we did beforehand unlawful, but it stops us emailing you from then on.

Where it is kept

Your details sit in a database hosted in the EU. We also use an error-monitoring service, on its EU infrastructure, that tells us when the site breaks — it is set up not to send us personal data, so crash reports do not arrive with your details attached.

We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to stop, or until Sprooty stops being a thing. If you unsubscribe we mark your entry as unsubscribed rather than deleting it outright, so that we can prove we had permission for the emails we already sent. Ask us to delete it properly and we will delete it properly.

What you can ask us for

A copy of what we hold about you, a correction, deletion, restriction, a portable export, or an objection to how we are using it. One email to office@sprooty.io is enough — you do not need to quote an article number at us.

If we handle that badly, you can complain to a supervisory authority: in Austria the Datenschutzbehörde, in Finland the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, or the one where you live.

Cookies

Visiting this site sets no cookies at all. The only cookie this site can set is a session cookie for the four of us when we log in to look at the signup list, which is strictly necessary and never reaches you.
